For those who may not have seen this information. Here is a very good video regarding the next generation of Verizon Set Top Boxes IPC1100, and the new VMS1100 Verizon Media server. Not available yet, but to be out soon.

Also the Verizon News Center, where there are multiple links to more information.

Thanks for the link, someone posted it will be out in September but I don't know if it is true or not.  There must be someone I can contact for an answer. Is there a marketing or development department that could tell us?

Since Verizon's competitors have had similar boxes for a while and include them in their packages at prices that are equal to or less than Verizon's obsolete DVR package price, the real question becomes how much extra Verizon will charge for the "upgrade".

I quite agree.  It appears that VZ will be playing "catch up" to at least some extent, so for me the issue is solely an economic one.  Yes, there are features that seem attractive about the upcoming equipment, but if I compare the new equipment to my current fees for STBs and DVRs (which incidentally is "zero for life" so far), it appears that I will require some persuading to make the switch.
