Damage to Mailbox

Hi,

I live at xxx Dinwiddie Drive, New Kensington PA, 15068   412 798-xxxx.  I am a Verizon customer.

A crew was working in my neighborhood during or near the week of 3/4/2013.  We were away that week.  We returned to find that the mail box had been dug up or knoked over and had not be properly anchored.

I am not sure as to who the crew was working for.  I've contacted Comcast and they claim that they have no record or any work being done.

The week before there had been a cable running across the neighboors yard into a n ~6" x 6" x 24" tall light green metal box near the curb.  When we returned, the cable was gone and the light green enclosures on either side of our yard had been replaced with slightly larger green boxes.  There was mud across the driveway and yard.  My yard had been marked with orange spray paint the week before.  It looks like they had repalced the boxes and the cable running through my yard.

I'm trying to find out who is responsible.  Could you help me?

Thanks!

Hello chuckv,

While a Verizon employee may occasionally post here, this community is meant mainly for peer-to-peer support. If you need to talk to a Verizon representative, you should contact customer service directly.

Check with you neighbors. Whoever had the cable ran should know who did the work.  It's going to be a lot harder (maybe impossible) finding out from another source.

Look at the boxes.  You may be able to figure out who they belong to.  If possible, open one up and see what is inside.

If you find coax, you know it's your local cable company.  If you find twisted pair, you know it belongs to the telephone company.

You could also file a report with  your local police department.  Or check with your local government.

Or, go to your local hardware store, buy a bag of cement and spend a hour or two fixing it yourself.  That might be less aggravation...

Good luck
