I have my router set up right next to my xbox and wanted to hardwire the router to the xbox. I ran an ethernet cable from the router to the xbox and it did not work. I tried it in all 3 ethernet slots on the router and it still didn't work. The light also didn't light up for either of the slot on the side of the router. What can i do to fix this?

Can you try another Ethernet cable, or try another device such as a laptop or desktop, or even a Smart TV?
There should be nothing special that is needed to use Ethernet. But you'll also want to make sure that you're not using a Crossover cable on accident. Some devices don't support Auto MDI/X which is needed to distinguish a Crossover cable from a straight-through cable.
