Hi. I had been getting HSI, but ordered the "Double Play" special. I received an email saying that to activate HSI Enhanced service, I needed to go through an activation process which included a download step. I started the download, but got as far as "Verizon Download Manager", which says (and has said for a long time) "preparing to download your products". I'm guessing this step is broken, but I don't know how to fix it. I'm also starting to think I may not need to do this. On "My Verizon", it says that I have HSI Enhanced, and the download speed is about 1.5Mbps (which is within the promised HSI Enhanced 1.1 - 3.0 Mbps range, but barely). Does this sound like something I need to contact Verizon about? (The Double Play, by the way, was a little cheaper than what I had been paying.) Thx all.
Step one: Visit http://www.giganews.com/line_info.html and post up the Traceroute the page shows, if you wish. Be aware that your non-bogan public IP Address will show up. It might shown up as the final hop (bottom-most line of the trace) might contain a hop with your IP address in it. Either remove that line or show only the first two octets. What I'm looking for is a line that mentions "ERX" in it's name towards the end. If for some reason the trace does not complete (two lines full of Stars), keep the trace route intact.
