Internet speed-slowness problems

Hi, I was the one who had asked about Road Runner's connections, whether they were better, though I really would have not rather switched. I think a service man came out 2 days, not sure, at first I still couldn't log on, now for over a day it's been fine. My questions and problems have to do with the slowness now, is it because the connection is working better? It's okay if I don't have super-duper speed, just don't want slowness, everything I attempt to do now is so much slower. Do a lot of uploading/downloading of files, not huge, before it would take 12-15 minutes to download a 300mb file, now it's over 3 hours! And on YouTube, can't watch a video for more than 5 seconds, it stops, goes on for 5 seconds, stops, etc. all in all, everything is slower. Questions... Is there anything I can do on my end to improve the speed? Go on to my Verizon page or make some sort of adjustments on my computer? My computer has been wotking fine, but maybe there is something I can do on it to improve my internet speed. As I type this, the internet light on my modem is fine, when I download files or go on YouTube that light really blinks very rapidly, not sure why. Thanks in advance for any hekp and advice anyone can give me.

HELP! Now this slowness has gotten out of hand, took 8 minutes to enter this site, log in and get to here. Tried downloading a 65mb file, would have taken over an hour. Took a speed test to check on my downloading speed, don't think it's too good, I really need some help, if not, who can I get in touch with, it's a long weekend, this speed will make it that much longer in a bad way, can Verizon do something from their end? Never knew the internet could be this slow, wow, first I always lose my connection, but speed is good, now that I can stay on, looks like my speed may be at 3%(?), all I want is a little of both. Here is the test I took, does it look bad, if so, any suggestions?

Your connection is: 196 Kbps or 0.2 Mbps
You downloaded at: 24 kB/s
You are running: 3 times faster than 56K and can download 1 megabyte in 42.67 second(s)

Don't know if it's funny, trying to come in and add on to this message, I have been knocked off the internet twice. Previous thread I had someone had asked for the transceiver stats, here they, once again, can anyone help?

Looks like this problem will have to be put on hold for a few days, now my phone is down, yet I can still get on the internet, wonder why that is possible. Speed is okay as long as I stck to things like this, no doing anything that makes it work too hard, up-downloading files, watching internet videos, etc. Sure I'll be back to this thread, service man #4 will be coming out, let's see what new problem arises, {please keep it relevant}
